OVER 1,000,000 HOMES RATED BY REM/Rate

REM NEWS

CRITICAL:Discontinuing Archenergy.com REM/Rate™ registration service early 2026

  • REM/Rate LLC no longer owns Archenergy.com and therefore, we are going to discontinue using the Archenergy.com domain early next year and switch to using RemRate.com domain. This means all versions of REM/Rate™ using Archenergy.com as their built-in registration service will no longer be able to register and update their expiration date. Please update all supported versions of REM/Rate™ to the lastest hotfix using the download page to ensure continued uninterrupted use of REM/Rate™.

Happy Holidays!

  • Our office will be closed for the holidays from December 24 through January 1st with limited support. During This time, please feel free to email us at [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can. Thank you and have a happy Holiday!

REM/Rate™ 2025 is the current released version

  • The latest NREL engine using ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2022 standard
    • CFIS input improvements
    • UEF added to DHW
    • Adjustments to eaves impact on insulation on buildings with a vented attic
  • Documents and photos can be attached to the building file, including rater checklists, Energy Star required photos, QA reports, etc.
  • Numerous internal fixes that improve stability and allow for planned enhancements within the REM/Rate™ 2025 life cycle. IECC 2024, Energy Star 3.3 and ZERH2 will use this new framework with ZERH2 near completion.

REM/Rate™ 2023 is in maintenance mode

  • Only critical bug fixes and crashes will be fixed. The latest hotfix includes a fix to use RemRate.com as the registration service.

REM/Rate™ 16.3.4 is end of life

  • No more bug fixes will be supplied. The latest hotfix uses the new RemRate.com registration service.

XML Export

  • This feature is now a charged item in all versions of REM/Rate™. You may enable XML export by contacting [email protected]. For all cases where export to XML is enabled there will be a one time charge per unique building address.

New binding guidance from DOE and EPA

  • Due to new guidance from DOE and EPA, REM/Rate™ Lite will no longer support the Energy Star Single-Family New Homes program and U.S. DOE Zero Energy Ready Homes program. For a home to be certified to these programs, the third-party verifier must be overseen by a Home Certification Organization (HCO). Because REM/ Rate™ Lite does not have the capability to track whether third-party verifiers are operating under an HCO , the ability to generate reports, labels, and certificates for these programs has been removed. Third-party verifiers working under RESNET’s HCO and REM/Rate™ may continue to use the full version of REM/Rate™ to certify homes to these programs.
  • Both Energy Star and ZERH reports will be either disabled or rendered NO PRINT in REM/Rate™ Lite depending on the version. All other reports and standards will continue to be supported.
  • After a conversation with EPA on Energy Star, guidance is for maintaining the current Energy Star program. As more information is obtained, we will keep you informed. At this time there is no definate information.

Did you know?

The Navigation control can be used to get to the corresponding building screen by simply clicking on any of the entries. It also contains related information between screens. For example, AGWalls contain the windows and doors attached to them. Additionally, each entry not only contains the screen values but the library values. These values are automatically synced with the page value. Other Navigation features include the ability to right-click to expand, collapse, print, and save the navigation control. This gives a complete view of the building without going through screens.
